李嘉誠投資高科技讀心術

繼facebook， Spotify及Siri等投資後，李嘉誠又有新科網投資，透過旗下創投基金Horizon Venture，夥同前大摩網絡女皇Mary Meeker及其他創投基金，投資1200萬美元於由MIT Media Lab分拆出來的情緒追蹤科企Affectiva。
由兩名科學家創辦的Affectiva，能透過鏡頭分析用戶的面部表情，追蹤及量度其情緒化應，用途包括用於評估觀眾對某一廣告的反應及接受程度。公司有意把這項技術的應用範圍，由廣告延伸至電腦遊戲。
  Now the company, founded in 2009 by professor Rosalind W. Picard, Sc.D. and research scientist Rana el Kaliouby, is taking this to the next level. It wants to make the technology in Affdex not only something that can be used to measure user responses to all forms of online video content, but also something that could be incorporated into content outside of ads — for example into games.

伴隨今次融資，前大摩網絡女皇Mary Meeker及Horizon Venture的Frank Meehan將加入Affectiva的董事局。現有股東包括大型廣告公司WPP，也會參與是次融資。
最近facebook也收購了面孔辨認科企Face.com，及聘請了眼球追蹤科企GazeHawk的兩名創辦人，顯示這一範疇已成為兵家必爭之地。
日後到百佳購物，小心你的喜好愛惡，都會被分析紀錄。
