錯過Trainspotting，等於錯過整個90年代

青春不是一個年紀，而是一種狀態，你覺得自己廢就對，孤獨就對，覺得無助就對了，覺得迷茫就對了，誰的青春不迷茫？

1996年，吾在倫敦，地鐡Tube入面、巴士廣告、戶外廣告，全部是一套名為Trainspotting的電影(港譯：迷幻列車)，一場來到，冇理由唔睇，看完之後，坐在椅子久久不能動彈，這電影太震撼了，音樂、影像、拍攝手法，入面的金句，到而家都識背，可見這電影對我輩影響有多大。

「Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life… But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin’ else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you’ve got heroin?」



90年代，英國音樂刚剛從80年代New Wave升華到Brit Pop的另一境界，去到最高潮的時間，同時電子音樂，正漸漸地走向主流，當年Trainspotting的電影原聲帶，可說是標誌了那是一個美好的年代，大英文化重新振興。

《Trainspotting》原著小說很難消化，裡面的蘇格蘭式英文，不是咁易懂，而小說的時間設定，是在 70 年代尾，80年代初，就是Punk爆發後的年頭，跟電影設定有20年的差異。

電影中對無所事事的廢青文化描寫，毒品的刻劃，對我們老一代廢青有著不可磨滅的印記，特別是那場在High完海洛英後，播上 Lou Reed 的Perfect Day，影像表現手法，重新把Perfect Day給了新生命。一代宗師Iggy Pop的成名作Lust for Life，同時也是開場歌曲。


Danny Boyle 成了大導演，演主角Renton的Ewan McGregor 成了荷里活巨星，Sick Boy - Johnny Lee Miller 在美劇《福爾摩斯與華生》Elementary）演福爾摩斯，Diane - Kelly Macdonald 也嫁了給Travis 的Bass結他手 Dougie Payn。

Danny Boyle的特色是常與劇作家John Hodge、制片Andrew Macdonald以及Ewan McGregor共同合作。Ewan推薦另類小說The Beach的劇本給Boyle的，但他後來發現片商希望找一位更賣座的明星來演出，並且在未知會Ewan的情況下請來了Leonardo Di Caprio，而片商本來是承諾讓Ewan擔任主角的。英國媒體與小報挑撥，使得他與導演自此未再合作過。

當年在片尾， Renton 拿著偷來的錢，迎著朝陽一步一步往前走著，踏上光明大道，跟前面的電影中的黑暗面揮別， Underworld 的Born Slippy 響起，不單是歌紅了，Underworld也從以往地下走到地上，變成了大眾都知道的名字。

20 年後的第二集，年輕人真的有沒有可能Choose Life？千禧後，正面對一個人浮於事、就業困難的世界。


從前的金句，在T2也變了，變成了：「Choose life. Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares. Choose looking up old flames, wishing you’d done it all differently. And choose watching history repeat itself. Choose your future. Choose reality TV, slut shaming, revenge porn. Choose a zero hour contract, a two hour journey to work. And choose the same for your kids, only worse, and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s kitchen. And then… take a deep breath. You’re an addict, so be addicted. Just be addicted to something else. Choose the ones you love. Choose your future. Choose life.」

全球都有龐大的經濟轉型壓力；各周有艱困的產業升級挑戰。為年輕人創造工作機會，愈來愈不容易。從創業環境、市場格局、網路平台，到獲取知識的能力、國際化程度，年輕人後已站在同一個起跑點上。90後、千禧年出生在網路世代，他們的創業平台或點子，幾乎都脫不了網路或社交媒體。

年輕人每天在心中都會出現一些「想要」，在羨慕別人的時候尤其會浮現：「好想變美！」「好想變瘦！」「好想上台！」「好想出國念書！」「好想放下一切追求夢想！」「好想得到那份工作！」「好想進那所學校讀書！」

大部分的人嘴裡這麼說，卻很少去爭取。可能沒那麼想要，也可能不敢要，因為恐懼自己得不到，所以從未行動。

有過成功經驗的人，通常比較「敢要」，也有很多方法「去要」。沒有成功經驗的人，只要夠有勇氣，也會試完一次又一次，讓每一次經驗累積能力，累積自信，讓自己離成功經驗越來越近。

你變了，我變了，世界也變了。事物明顯變了，到底是好是壞？
