Hi lumyeung bro
Just discovered your blog very recently and found it very meaningful! If I could have your knowledge before, I would not be that confused now. Take it short, my question/scenario is below:
Married couple with 2 kids (3 and 1 years old)
Total monthly salaries of my wife and me: HK$95K
Cash: HK$900k
Investments (including stocks and funds): HK$1,200K – want to take it as educational funds for the kids
We sold our 2-room flat in 2009 when our first kid was born and rented a 3-room flat in Tsuen Wan. We “planned” to rent for short term only and “waited” for the correction of the property market to buy a large 3-room flat. The story after that is clear and proved to be a wrong investment decision.
Our monthly rental now is about HK$16K. We want to buy a large 3-room for medium/long term, what is your suggestion to me?
Many thanks for your time and answer in advance!
