Our History

Sometimes, in order to look forward, you have to look back.

For the past twenty thousand years, every security system has been designed to keep people out. Think Great Wall of China. Think moats around castles, filled with alligators, and secured with draw bridges.

If you’ve ever visited a castle, the inside is designed to make it harder … and harder, and harder … to access the most important areas.

In 2006, it occurred to IntelliCentrics CEO Mike Sheehan that, in today’s hyper-connected world, this model no longer works. Actually, it had been occurring to him for years, as he traveled the world in sales leadership and Six Sigma roles for Honeywell. What he noticed was this:

"The most successful companies rejected fear as a business model, and instead embraced TRUST."
Mike Sheehan
CEO, IntelliCentrics

It all started with a name—IntelliCentrics—coined from the “intelligent, concentric circles” representing various constituents in the healthcare community. We’ve since grown into a community of professionals, patients, their families, and facilities, working together to achieve a safe and secure healthcare experience for everyone.

Think about a hospital. Everyone is vulnerable. You don’t have to be a patient. You could be visiting the patient, and expose yourself to risk, simply because you don’t understand what’s expected. IntelliCentrics operationalizes educating hospital visitors about their unique roles and responsibilities.

For more than ten years, at more than 10,000 registered unique locations of care across six countries, the IntelliCentrics technology platform has been servicing and supporting a more efficient, compliant healthcare experience—all on a single instance of software:

10,000 Healthcare facility members, worldwide

700,000+

15,000,000 Document pages processed to date without a single missed deadline
15,000,000

There are no limitations on where we’re going. Want to join us? The only requirement is that you want to make the world a safer place.

Together, we can make healthcare better.

Our Mission
IntelliCentrics is driven by a single purpose:

To transform how healthcare is accessed, making quality healthcare available to every man, woman, and child worldwide.

The name derives from the “intelligent concentric circles” that represent the unique value our secure community delivers to the various constituents in our healthcare ecosystem. To ensure a safe and secure operation, healthcare leaders must be able to identify all visitors to a facility—and understand if they are qualified to be there. IntelliCentrics provides services, resources, and solutions that deliver this insight and control.

The result? A more efficient, compliant, and profitable location of care.

Today, we’re focused on healthcare. Tomorrow, you’ll find us at home … and in many other industries. There’s a 50-year plan for the 5 Rings. But regardless of where you find us, IntelliCentrics promises to give our customers one less thing to worry about—by removing distraction and worry from the daily routine.

Our People
Our executive team has decades of experience in security, IT, science, healthcare, and engineering. Together, we’re leading the charge to make the healthcare experience better for everyone.
